Do you wish you could pick out your own photo for your driver's license?
A proposed California bill would allow you to pick your own photo.
Senate Bill 1407 would give you two options:
- Ask the photographer to retake the picture and then pick a photo to be used on your license.
- Take the picture offsite as long as it meets DMV guidelines.
If you want to retake the picture or choose your own custom photo, it would cost an additional fee for each photograph taken. The money made from the photo fees would fund driver education programs in schools.
“SB 1407 would create a new revenue source for something that is really lacking in public education,” said Fullerton Senator Josh Newman. “Driver education needs to be a funding priority for the state and this legislation creates a simple mechanism to bring drivers education back to our schools.”
