Commission On Presidential Debates Promises Format Changes For Next Debates

Following Tuesday night's chaotic debate between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, the Commission on Presidential Debates said they are going to be making changes for the next two debates.

"Last night's debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues," the CPD said in a statement. "The CPD will be carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly."

The organizers did not provide specifics about what changes they were considering. They praised moderator Chris Wallace for how he handled the raucous debate and said they will provide "additional tools to maintain order" at future debates.

"The commission is grateful to Chris Wallace for the professionalism and skill he brought to last night's debate and intends to ensure that additional tools to maintain order are in place for the remaining debates," the CPD said.

The next presidential debate is supposed to be a town hall format and will be held in Miami, Florida, on October 15. The final presidential debate will be on October 22 in Nashville, Tennessee. You can listen to both debates on NBC News Radio and on iHeartMedia stations nationwide, as well as on the iHeartRadio app.
