California Cops Go Grocery Shopping For 95-Year-Old Man Stuck At Home

Police officers with the San Diego Police Department went above and beyond the call of duty following a welfare check on a 95-year-old resident. When they made contact with the man, identified only as Mr. Teo, they learned he was in need of some basic supplies.

The two officers decided to help him out and went to the grocery store, where they browsed half-empty shelves to buy him some milk, toilet paper, and other non-perishable items. After they were done at the grocery store, the officers went to a local restaurant to pick up a prepared meal for the man.

The department shared a video on Twitter of the officers bringing the food to Mr. Teo with the caption, "This is how we win."

The department has been active on social media during the lockdown, sharing photos of officers conducting other welfare checks, including one where they spoke to a pair of residents through a window. In a post on Instagram, they shared a photo of two police dogs practicing social distancing by obediently sitting six feet apart from each other.

"San Diegans, the CDC has stated one of the main ways COVID-19 spreads is person-to-person. Let's all make sure we are using social distancing (6 feet). Our canines are doing their part too! Let's get through this together. #coronavirus #covid19 #OneTeamOneMission," the department wrote.
