IRS Owes 9 Million People Their Stimulus Check - You Have To Registered

Economic Stimulus Package Tax Rebate Checks Printed

While we wait to see if congress plans to give people a second round of stimulus checks, the IRS made an announcement.

The IRS said as many as 9 million people didn't receive their first stimulus check. Some don't know they're eligible to receive one.

People who didn't file their tax return in 2018/2019 could receive checks by registering on their IRS site to claim their money.

The deadline to register is October 15.

The statement by the IRS

Later this month, the Internal Revenue Service will start mailing letters to roughly nine million Americans who typically don't file federal income tax returns who may be eligible for, but have not registered to claim, an Economic Impact Payment.
The letters will urge recipients to register at IRS.gov by October 15 in order to receive their payment by the end of the year. Individuals can receive up to $1,200, and married couples can receive up to $2,400. People with qualifying children under age 17 at the end of 2019 can get up to an additional $500 for each qualifying child.

After you register, you can track the status of your payment using the Get My Payment tool.
