So the Miss America Pageant has been around FOREVER but one big change is coming to the competition. They said that Miss America is scrapping its swimsuit competition and will no longer judge contestants based on physical appearance.
Gretchen Carlson, the first former Miss America to be named chair of the Board of Trustees of the Miss America Organization, said on "GMA." "We are a competition." - "We are no longer a pageant,"
So instead of that the Miss America contestants will now take part in a live interactive session with the judges, according to the organization.
They're also getting rid of the evening wear portion of the competition, they're not asking the contestants to wear something that makes them feel confident!
I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of bummed about that because I LOVE the dresses! But everything deserves to evolve!
