The funeral for Pope Francis will take place on Saturday (April 26) in Vatican City, drawing global attention as world leaders and mourners gather to pay their respects. The funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. local time, which is 4 a.m. Eastern Time, in St. Peter's Square. Following the mass, the pope's coffin will be moved to the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome for burial, marking the first time in over a century that a pope will be buried outside the Vatican.
