The Baltimore Ravens have officially acquired veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. The trade, finalized on Friday (November 6), involves the Ravens sending a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick to the Cardinals in exchange for Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round selection. This move comes as the Ravens seek stability at quarterback following injuries to both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley.

Brissett, who started the season as Arizona's QB1, was demoted to third string earlier this week, prompting his request for a trade. According to azcardinals.com, the Cardinals converted about half of Brissett's remaining $5.4 million salary into a signing bonus before the trade, covering a significant portion of his salary.

The Ravens, currently 4-5, are looking to Brissett to help turn their season around. They suffered a 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday (November 5) with undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano at quarterback. The team hopes Brissett can step into the starting role and lead them to victory against the Los Angeles Chargers on "Monday Night Football" in Week 10.

Brissett has completed 63.3% of his passes for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns, and seven interceptions this season. His experience spans several NFL teams, including the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, and Cardinals. The Ravens are his seventh team, and they hope his presence can boost their playoff chances.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, will proceed with Gardner Minshew as their starting quarterback and rookie Carson Beck as the backup. Head coach Mike LaFleur stated that the decision to trade Brissett was made in the best interest of the team.
