Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, citing debts of over $3.45 million. The filing, made on Wednesday (November 4) in the Northern District of Texas bankruptcy court, reveals that a significant portion of Rice's debt is linked to legal issues stemming from a 2024 high-speed car crash in Dallas and allegations of assault by a former girlfriend, according to Complex.

Rice, 26, owes $979,837 to crash victim Kathryn Kuykendall as part of a $1 million settlement reached in April 2025. He also owes a combined $1.3 million to other crash victims, including Kamlesh Desai, Charles Bush Jr., Edward Petrovskiy, Irina Gromova, and Kayla Quinn. Additionally, Rice faces a disputed claim of $200,000 from ex-girlfriend Dacoda Jones, who sued him for alleged physical and mental abuse earlier this year, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

The bankruptcy filing lists Rice's personal assets at $677,054, including $421,825 in deferred compensation and his Super Bowl LVIII ring valued at $160,000. Rice is in the final year of his rookie contract with the Chiefs, a four-year deal worth $6.4 million, according to NBC Chicago.

Rice's legal troubles began with the 2024 crash, for which he pleaded guilty to third-degree felony charges. He was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days in jail, later serving an additional 30 days for violating probation by testing positive for THC.
