Justin Timberlake reportedly plans to address the lingering controversy surrounding his shocking performance with Janet Jackson.
On Monday, November 2, Variety announced that the *NSYNC singer will sit down for a four-part docuseries airing on Apple TV in December. The outlet reports that he and the Queen of Pop discuss the "wardrobe malfunction" that happened during their Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in 2004. Actor Fisher Stevens directed the series, but no other details have been revealed. Neither Timberlake nor Jackson has commented on the upcoming program. While the show will bring attention to the decades-long controversy, it will also touch on other parts of Timberlake's personal life.
Another source told Variety that Timberlake will also respond to comments made by his ex-girlfriend, Britney Spears. The veteran pop singer touched on her relationship with Timberlake in her recent memoir, "The Woman In Me." In the book, Spears revealed that she had an abortion while they dated. Spears was 17 in 1999 when she and Timberlake, 18, got together. They ended their relationship in 2003.
“Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy," she wrote in the book. "He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
Spears later apologized for some of the personal details she revealed about Timberlake and praised his song, "Selfish." Timberlake didn't respond directly to Spears but fans believe he addressed the controversy on stage when he said he'd “like to take this opportunity to apologize... to absolutely f**king nobody." She later retracted her apology.
