Rick Ross is giving props to his two attorneys after they got the only felony charge in his domestic violence case dropped.
The 50-year-old rapper turned himself in last month for two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and felony battery by strangulation. Ross, born William Roberts II, pleaded not guilty and declared the allegations were "fabricated." Last week, the felony battery by strangulation charge was dropped due to insufficient evidence. In a video he shared to his Instagram Story on Monday, November 2, the MMG boss thanked his attorneys for getting the felony charge dropped.
“I have to send this out to the number one attorney in the game, Steve Sadow,” Rozay said. “My lead attorney, Steve Sadow, I want to thank you for being who you are, what you are, and always bringing the truth to light. I thank you. Not only is Steve Sadow the number one attorney in the game, but also my very close friend. Big Steve, much love."
"This is for Bradley Horenstein, a major part of my legal team," he added. "Once again, I told you, I had an amazing legal team. Bradley Horenstein, he had his boots on the ground making things happen, connecting all the dots!”
Ross was arrested days after his ex-girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, shared images of the alleged abuse on his Instagram Story. She claimed he "saw me as a punching bag" and said she left him the day he allegedly hit her. According to the Miami Beach Police Department, Ross and Kendrick got into a verbal dispute over an Instagram post she was tagged in on August 28.
Kendrick told police in September that Ross slapped her in the face every time she denied being in a relationship with the person who tagged her. She also claimed Ross hit her and struck her in the chest several times, which caused breathing issues. She also accused him of busting her lip open after he grabbed her by her ponytail and slammed her head into the ground.
"William Roberts II, professionally known as Rick Ross, is being wrongfully accused by an ex-girlfriend whose true motivations are unclear," his defense attorneys Bradley Horenstein and Steve Sadow said in a statement to iHeartRadio. "The ex did not even file a police report until a month after the claimed incident allegedly took place. Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges. He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course."
Ross still faces two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery. He maintains his innocence.
