The Anaheim Ducks have decided to waive veteran forward Chris Kreider, as reported by Sportsnet. The 35-year-old player was placed on waivers today with the intention of granting his release. Kreider, who was entering the final year of a seven-year contract originally signed with the New York Rangers, joined the Ducks last season following a trade. During his time with Anaheim, he recorded 50 points in 75 games and added another seven points in the playoffs.
Kreider's journey to the Ducks began when the Rangers traded him, along with a fourth-round pick, to Anaheim in exchange for prospect Carey Terrance and a third-round pick.
