Lil Wayne recently announced his breakup with Madi Cannon, clarifying that they were never engaged, despite widespread speculation. During a live stream, the 43-year-old rapper addressed rumors and shared that he and the 23-year-old social media influencer from Indiana decided to part ways. Wayne emphasized that he "had a beautiful thing going with an amazing person" but didn't want to be a burden on Cannon.
Rumors of their engagement began circulating in May 2026. However, Wayne's revelation puts those to rest. The breakup coincides with challenges in his professional life, including missing the opening of his "20 Years of Carter Classics" tour in Bangor, Maine, due to health concerns. Wayne explained that migraines and potential seizure risks kept him from flying.
The rapper, known for his past relationships with various celebrities, has faced backlash for recent tour absences.
He is scheduled to perform next in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday (July 16).
