Sinbad is back on stage — and this time he’s not alone.

Ahead of his first onstage appearance on Wednesday (April 29), the actor and comedian, born David Adkins, announced his return to the stage six years after a severe stroke that left him in critical condition.

“Some moments you don't rush. You just wait until they're ready. Tonight is one of those moments,” he captioned his video announcement.

In the video, Sinbad officially announced his first show on April 29 and his second on May 10 at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena, California

“It's just the beginning of me coming back,” he said in the video. “I'm so looking forward to these shows. I got so much stuff to talk about. I'm gonna be talking more trash than I ever talked.”

Sinbad also shared that his daughter, Paige Adkins, will be opening for him, marking the first time they’ll be working together on stage.

“Tonight, I'm opening for the man, the myth, the legend himself,” Adkins wrote in an Instagram story posted on Wednesday. “It's been heartbreaking to be on this journey without my biggest cheerleader so when I say tonight is special — it's a moment I will NEVER forget and ALWAYS cherish.”

Sinbad experienced an ischemic stroke in October 2020, resulting from a blood clot that traveled from his heart to his brain.

The surgery to remove the clot left him unable to talk or move without discomfort during parts of his recovery. His family later shared updates in a November 2022 Instagram post linking to a now-deleted website that provided information on his condition.
