Denzel Curry's music has reached astronomical heights thanks to the team aboard Artemis II.

On Tuesday, April 7, NASA confirmed that the four astronauts who recently circled the moon woke up to the sounds of Curry and Glass Animals' 2019 collaboration "Tokyo Drifting." The song appeared in one of the transmissions from the crew after they completed a flyby around the moon. In the clip, you can see part of the spaceship after it left the moon's sphere of influence and began its journey home. The Florida artist was understandably hype after he made history in space.

"Even Aliens F**k with my S**t!" Curry wrote on X. "First Rapper Played in SPACE N***A!"

Denzel Curry has become the first rapper to have his music played from outside Earth's atmosphere, but he wasn't the only hip-hop artist who's music defied gravity. Prior to Curry's feat, Missy Elliott became the first rapper to have her music launched into space. In July 2024, NASA announced that it had beamed lyrics from the song “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” to Venus via the agency's DSN (Deep Space Network). A transmission from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California was sent to Venus using giant radio antennas that send commands and receive scientific data from spaceships.

The Artemis II launched into space on April 1 with astronauts Christina Koch, Pilot Victor Glover, Jeremy Hansen, and Reid Wiseman. During the journey, the crew tested the performance of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, witnessed a solar eclipse, and sent the most up-to-date images of the moon. It's the farthest NASA has been in over 50 years. The spaceship is expected to land off the coast of San Diego this Friday.
