Offset is recovering after he was reportedly shot outside of a casino in South Florida.
On Monday night, April 6, the former Migos rapper was shot in the leg following a scuffle that unfolded outside of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. A rep for the Atlanta native told Variety that Offset is doing "fine" after the shooting and was taken to a nearby hospital to receive medical treatment.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” his rep said. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
In footage that was posted after the shooting, you can see one man being detained by police while another man is on the ground. The man who was taken away by police is believed to be rapper Lil Tjay. Tjay was reportedly arrested in connection with the incident. He was processed at the Broward County Main Jail for a couple of charges, including disorderly conduct and a traffic offense. It's not clear if he's still in jail, however, his attorney, Dawn Florio, issued a statement denying his involvement with the shooting.
"Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting," Florio wrote. "We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors."
Offset and Lil Tjay have been engaged in an ongoing beef for well over a year. Last January, Lil Tjay went viral after he claimed Offset is broke, has a gambling addiction, and allegedly begged people to Cash App him money while in a casino. He also claimed Offset owed him $10,000 and has yet to pay it back.
