Fetty Wap is back with his first album since he was released from prison.
On Friday, March 27, the New Jersey native delivered his fourth studio album Zavier via 300 Entertainment. Fetty hits the ground running by celebrating his freedom in the uplifting banger "Right Back To You." Afterward, he experiments with refreshing flows over R&B and jazz-type beats on rare collaborations with Wiz Khalifa, Honey Bxby, Divinity, Ymanie, Tink, Rob McCoy, and his longtime friend Monty. Midway through the project, Fetty taps back into his roots in street rap with bangers like "BossDon" with Max B and "Eastside Mz."
Of course, Fetty Wap still reps his hometown of Paterson, N.J. In addition to Monty, the 34-year-old rapper invites fellow Jersey spittas like Albee Al, Harrd Luck, and Oskama Esteban to join him on tracks like "LYG" and "Real Ones." Fetty closes out the project with his collaboration with G Herbo, "I Remember / Dear Zavier."
Zavier serves as the follow-up to his third LP, King Zoo. The project was released in 2023 while he was in prison. Fetty Wap walked out of a Minnesota prison in January after he served three years of his six-year sentence over drug charges. The "My Way" rapper will remain under supervised release for the next five years, but that's not stopping him from dropping new music and helping his community.
On the album's release day, Fetty Wap returned to The Breakfast Club to talk about the project, fatherhood as a free man, and his initiatives outside of music. Listen to his new album Zavier on iHeartRadio now and catch clips from his interview below. Watch the entire conversation on Netflix now!
