Remy Ma is speaking out after Rick Ross issued a complaint over a film that appeared to resemble his life story.

On Wednesday, March 18, TMZ reported that the MMG founder's legal team recently sent a cease-and-desist to the New York native's "Remy Network" over its upcoming film, Biggest Boss. The film follows a police officer who uses a drug dealer's life and turns it into a rap career. Ross' attorneys allege the plot was too similar to the "Hustlin'" rapper, who ditched his role as a corrections officer to pursue music. They also believe fans are being misled into thinking Ross is involved with the film since his music appears in the trailer.

According to The Breakfast Club's Loren LoRosa, Remy Ma is confused as to why the legal dispute became public when her team already handled it. The Terror Squad rapper said she's had a personal and professional relationship with Ross for over 20 years. When her team was informed, Remy said that an editor used Ross' music by mistake and they quickly worked to remove it. She also personally reached out to Ross directly about it, however, he hasn't returned her call yet.

"Upon being made aware of the issue, the title was immediately removed from the platform," Remy's reps told TMZ. "The Remy Network is now working closely with its partners to strengthen review processes and ensure that situations like this do not occur moving forward."

Some fans were quick to believe the film was made in retaliation for Ross' newfound support of Claressa Shields. The Port of Miami rapper once walked her out before a fight and supported the boxer online, especially after she got involved in a beef between her boyfriend, Papoose, and his foe, 50 Cent. However, Remy Ma shot down those rumors and emphasized she "would never intentionally engage in any action that could harm his brand or cause offense."
