Michael B. Jordan has been getting praise from loyal fans and past Oscar winners since he took home the coveted Best Actor award at the 2026 Oscars.
Shortly after the Academy Awards wrapped up on Sunday, March 17, the Sinners star was bombarded by plenty of positive messages. One lengthy social media post came from Jamie Foxx, who won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2004 for his role in Ray.
I can barely breathe right now… you were absolutely incredible in this film," Foxx wrote. "An amazing actor, an amazing director — truly all of the above. Tonight we celebrate you: your talent, your mystique, and your incredible passion for the craft."
"Honestly, you deserve two Oscars for this one," he continued. "When I sat down to watch the movie, I already knew it was going to be special the moment I saw a pair of Jordans on screen. Then the first line — “Are you guys twins?” and you hit us with, “No… we cousins!” — man, I was locked in from there. Congratulations, my brother @michaelbjordan You’re operating in rare air right now. Celebrate it to the fullest…and trust me, the after-party is going to be crazy."
Soon after the news of his win spread, Will Smith, who previously won Best Actor for his role in the 2021 biopic King Richard, also chimed in and saluted Jordan for his victory.
“CONGRATS, beloved," Smith wrote in an Instagram comment. "Makin’ History!”
Jordan mentioned both multifaceted artists in his acceptance speech at the Academy Awards. After his win, the 39-year-old gave props to the six Black actors who won the award before him, like Smith, Foxx, and other legends.
“Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith… To be amongst those giants, amongst those greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys," Jordan said. "Thank you, everybody, in this room and everybody at home, for supporting me over my career.”
Before he hit up the after parties, Michael B. Jordan celebrated his victory by hitting up a local In-N-Out, where he chowed down on some burgers and fries with his Oscar in hand. See more scenes from that moment below.
