Fetty Wap is getting ready to release his first studio album since he became a free man.
On Monday, March 16, the New Jersey native shared a trailer for his upcoming album, Zavier, on social media. In it, he reflected on how he felt while he was locked up and shed light on the person he's evolved into since he was released from prison.
"I ain't never said this out loud before," Fetty Wap begins as he narrates the trailer. "When they take everything away, all you got left is the person your mama named you. You can call me Fetty, but the people who know me call me Zavier.
Zavier will serve as the follow-up to his third LP, King Zoo. The project was released in 2023 while he was in prison. It will also be his first batch of tracks that Fetty has released since he came home earlier this year. The 34-year-old artist walked out of a Minnesota prison in January after he served three years of his six-year sentence over drug charges. The "My Way" rapper will remain under supervised release for the next five years, but that's not stopping him from dropping new music and helping his community.
"Right now, my focus is on giving back through my community initiatives and foundation, supporting at-risk young children by expanding access to education, early tech skills, and vision care for young kids and students so they can show up as their best selves," he said in a statement upon his release. "I’m committed to moving forward with purpose and making a meaningful impact where it matters most.”
Look out for Zavier dropping on March 27.
