Quavo is back with the first look at his anticipated film arriving later this year.

On Friday, March 13, the Migos rapper shared the trailer for his new film Takeover. The film, which was made using graphic novel-style animation, is inspired by Atlanta's gritty car takeover culture. Quavo stars as Guy Miller, a car enthusiast who gets out of prison on parole. After returning home, Miller becomes responsible for his late brother's two kids. However, he eventually falls back into a life of crime after international thief Gamal Akopyan, played by Billy Zane, coerces him into executing a high-stakes diamond heist.

Directed by Greg Jonkajtys and written by Die Hard writer Jeb Stuart, Takeover stars Quavo, Billy Zane, Serayah, and others. It will also have the final on-screen appearance of the late TakeOff, who was shot and killed four years ago. The high-octane action thriller was first announced in 2022 prior to TakeOff's death. The film will debut in theaters on May 8 via Quality Control Music’s production arm, Quality Films, and Trioscope Studios. Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas have reportedly signed on as producers.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta," Quavo said about his role. "This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”

Quavo began his foray into acting a few years ago. He appeared in TV series like "Atlanta," "Black-ish," 'Ballers," "Narcos: Mexico" and "Star." He recently starred alongside John Travolta in the 2024 film Cash Out and its sequel, High Rollers. Last year, he appeared in the animated film Sneaks with Anthony Mackie and Martin Lawrence.
