The 'Doomsday' plane was once again spotted flying over California this past weekend amid the ongoing 'Operation Epic Fury' in Iran, according to the California Post.

The Boeing E-6B Mercury, which serves as the president's emergency operations hub in the case of a nuclear war, flew over Fresno after previously being spotted at Los Angeles International Airport two months prior. Airport bosses said the plane was conducting approaches at the site and underwent mock landings for two hours in Fresno this past weekend.

The plane can control bombers, missiles and ballistic missile submarines and remain airborne for up to 12 hours without needing to refuel, making it capable of extended nuclear control missions. The aircraft is built to maintain global communications and remain in operation even if ground command centers become disabled, serving as a mobile airborne version of the Pentagon.

“They can control the bombers, if the bombers are on alert, they can control the missiles, because the missiles are always on alert, and obviously they can control our ballistic missile submarines,” Major General William F. Garrison told FOX 26. “It’s all combined into one.”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth addressed panic when the plane was previously spotted at Los Angeles International Airport, claiming it was used for his "arsenal of freedom tour" at the time.
