T.I. says he's teaming up with Dr. Dre for his upcoming final album.
On Saturday, March 7, AllHipHop published a clip from its forthcoming interview with the Atlanta rapper. During their chat, Tip revealed that the veteran rapper-producer hooked him up with a banger for Kill The King. The song is called "Where I'm From" and features singers Anderson .Paak and Stalone. T.I. said the song came together over a series of recording sessions.
“He sent it to me, and I went to the house and I laid it," Tip said. "And then I laid another verse and I went back."
This would be T.I.'s first collaboration with Dr. Dre. The Aftermath founder is the latest producer to appear on Tip's final album. Earlier this year, the Grand Hustle CEO confirmed that Kill The King would be his last project as an artist. He released the first single from his final LP, "Let 'Em Know," produced by Pharrell Williams, as well as the music video shot by Hype Williams.
T.I. joined forces with Dre amid his ongoing issues with the super-producer's most prominent signee, 50 Cent. Tip and Fif have been beefing over the past few weeks after the G-Unit founder refused to face him in a Verzuz battle. The Atlanta native recently released a series of diss tracks aimed at Fif, including "Lessons" and "The Right One." His sons, Domani and King Harris, also joined in the melee by dropping their own diss tracks for 50. Although he fired back on Instagram, 50 Cent finally replied to Tip on his new "Power: Origins" theme song.
