Queen Latifah rarely speaks out on social media, but she felt compelled to do so after the Internet claimed that she died.
In a video she posted to Instagram on Thursday, March 4, the veteran rapper and actress addressed false rumors that she had passed away. She spoke to fans while inside a car and assured them that she's just fine. She even blew a kiss and chucked up a peace sign.
"Good morning, it's me Latifah. I'm 100% A-OK," she said. "Can't believe what you read on the Internet -- or see. Can't believe nothing now, right? I'm good. Peace."
For the unfamiliar, several accounts online spread a rumor that the "U.N.I.T.Y." rapper had passed earlier this week. The rumors made her name trend on apps like X and got so out of hand that the Queen had to address her constituents.
It's not clear how or why the rumor about her death started, especially since she's been outside a lot over the past few weeks. She just attended the 75th NBA All-Star Game during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles two weeks ago. She also attended the 2026 Grammy Awards and presented the award for Best Rap Album alongside Doechii. While on the red carpet, she debuted a new haircut and even praised her partner, Eboni Nichols, for working as a producer on the awards show.
Queen Latifah is clearly alive and well. We hope she stays that way for years to come.
