JAŸ-Z stunned fans with another major drop, and now they believe more surprises are in store for the seasoned rapper's upcoming 30th anniversary.
On Sunday morning, March 1, Roc Nation announced "N***a What, N***a Who (Originator '99)" is now available on streaming services and on vinyl. The Timbaland-produced song was originally released in 1998 as the fourth single from Hov's third studio album Vol.2… Hard Knock Life. It serves as the sequel to his collaboration with Jaz-O ("The Originators circa 1990), and features Amil, who had just signed with Roc-a-Fella Records at the time of its release.
On the flip side, Roc Nation also dropped his smash hit "Dirt Off My Shoulders" on Side B. The song, also produced by Timbaland, appears on Hov's 2003 LP, The Black Album, but was released as a single on March 2, 2004.
The latest drop from JAŸ-Z's vault comes a couple of days after "Dead Presidents" was released on streaming services for the first time. It was also released on streaming and vinyl. The surge of releases isn't lost on fans. With the influx of surprise drops, fans are convinced that Hov could be plotting something ahead of the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt.
Rumors about a surprise album and/or an anniversary show began to spread last week after the Roc Nation founder updated his display name on streaming services to "JAŸ-Z" and launched his new website JAYZ30.com. Since then, fans also noticed that the Barclays Center in Brooklyn had been blocked out during the dates of June 19 through July 3. Some people are convinced that Hov will host an anniversary show during that time, since Reasonable Doubt's 30th anniversary is on June 25.
JAŸ-Z has yet to confirm (or deny) his plans for his debut album's 30th anniversary. In the meantime, watch the videos for "N***a What, N***a Who (Originator '99)" and "Dirt Off My Shoulders" below.
