After months of speculation, singer D4vd is officially the prime target of the investigation into Celeste Rivas Hernandez's death.

According to newly revealed court documents that surfaced on Wednesday, February 25, the 20-year-old artist is the subject of a probe that began several months after the 15-year-old girl's remains were found in the front trunk of D4vd's Tesla. According to the Los Angeles Times, the grand jury subpoena issued to the singer's mother, father, and brother revealed that the singer, born David Anthony Burke, is listed as “Target David Burke" who's accused of "one count of murder.”

D4vd could be indicted for the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The teenage girl was discovered inside a Tesla registered to the singer in Los Angeles back in September. The vehicle was impounded at a lot in Hollywood after neighbors in Hollywood Hills reported it as abandoned. After smelling a foul odor, authorities were called, and a forensic team later confirmed that the remains belonged to Hernandez, who had been reported missing in 2024. Police have been investigating D4vd's ties to the victim and the home he reportedly lived in before she died.

A grand jury has been in session since November. Over the past several months, people from D4vd's inner circle, including his touring manager, Robert Morgenroth, and close friend, Neo Langston, have already appeared to testify. At one point, Langston was taken into custody and forced to testify after he initially attempted to dodge the court order.

D4vd's family is currently fighting the subpoena. The singer has yet to issue a formal statement about the investigation. However, he has hired legal representation.
