Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has been sued by his ex-girlfriend, who is accusing him of a pattern of domestic abuse, according to court documents obtained by KCTV.

Dacoda Nichole Jones is accusing Rice, 25, of assaulting her at their shared Texas and Missouri homes "over the course of many months" in a civil lawsuit, though Rice has not been criminally charged. The lawsuit specifically accuses Rice of abuse that took place from December 2023 to July 2025, which including incidents on February 16, 2024; August 23, 2024; October 24, 2024; and December 2024 that resulted in "severe and permanent injuries."

Rice and Jones, who share two children, were allegedly living together when the initial alleged incident took place in Texas on December 2023.

“Defendant Rashee Rice continued to repeatedly assault Dacoda Jones over the course of their relationship through July 2025," the lawsuit states via KCTV.

Jones shared photos on her Instagram account last month showing bruises and wounds on various parts of her body, alleging that she was abused for numerous years by the father of her children, though not mentioning Rice by name. The Chiefs confirmed they were "aware" of domestic violence allegations against Rice at the time, but also didn't refer to him by name.

"The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League," the Chiefs said in January. "We have no further comment at this time."

Rice has dealt with numerous off-field issues during his first three NFL seasons which included a 2024 offseason multi-car crash in Dallas that resulted in him serving a six-game suspension and being sentenced to five years probation and 30 days of jail time that can be served at any point during that span. Last June, the victim of an alleged assault incident requested not to pursue charges against Rice. The former SMU standout recorded 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns in eight games during the 2025 season.
