Teddy Riley says R. Kelly has been working on new music and shared a glimpse of what he's made so far.

On Saturday, January 10, the revered artist uploaded a clip of R. Kelly's rendition of Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller's "It Depends." The verse, which appears to have been recorded over the phone, has Kelly singing about his love for his fans and his daughter, Joann Kelly a.k.a. Buku Abi.

"Put my fans first, anything else is secondary/Miss my fans so much, I put 'em on my commissary," Kelly croons. "I miss Joann, I miss the good, for real/I ain't gonna lie, sometimes I shed a tear, for real."

R. Kelly is behind bars serving his 30-year sentence after he was found guilty of sex crimes in 2021. The Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter was convicted of various charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, after he sexually assaulted multiple young women and girls throughout his musical career. He tried to appeal his convictions; however, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan ruled to uphold the convictions last year. According to Riley, Kelly has been working on new music while behind bars and plans to release more teasers soon.

"Still the King of R&B Bar None!!!!" Riley wrote in his caption. "Can’t wait for yall to hear the new music!!! Til then teaser missiles will be dropping!!! It’s about that time for real music!!!"

Buku Abi recently sat down with Lil Wayne's daughter, Reginae Carter, on the latest episode of her podcast Heir Time. Abi previously accused her father of molesting her when she was a child; however, she asserted that she still loves her father despite their past.
