Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore was arrested on a concealed weapon charge in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, on Wednesday (January 7), according to police records obtained by ESPN.

Lattimore, 29, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. local time and booked into jail, but later released, in relation to an incident that is still under investigation, according to police. A 9mm Glock was listed as evidence, according to a police report, which also listed a second potential charge of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

The Commanders confirmed that they were aware of the situation in a statement obtained by ESPN.

"We have been made aware of the arrest and are gathering more information. We have informed the NFL League office and have no further comment at this time," the Commanders said.

Lattimore, a four-time Pro Bowler, was previously arrested in Cleveland in March 2021 on a felony stolen firearm charge, which was later dismissed, though he pleaded guilty to a concealed weapon misdemeanor charge, which resulted in one-year probation and a suspended 180-day jail sentence. The former Ohio State standout was acquired by the Commanders in a trade with the New Orleans Saints in 2024, but has only appeared in five games for Washington, including the playoffs, due to a hamstring injury.

Lattimore tore his ACL on November 3, which forced him to miss the remainder of the 2025 NFL season and the Commanders could save $18.5 million by releasing him, according to ESPN.
