Some of Sean "Diddy" Combs' employees claim that they haven't been receiving their paychecks while the mogul is in prison, and they are furious.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, January 6, business management firm Tri Star Sports & Entertainment is currently managing Combs' finances while he's locked up at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. Sources told the outlet that the company is keeping a firm grasp on the music executive's fortune, so much so that employees on his payroll have yet to be paid. His own attorneys, who've been working on his various cases, have also been stiffed, which led one of them to quit.
“People, personnel, and attorneys are all being paid, and no one is leaving," Combs' rep Juda Engelmayer said about the allegations. "Sean Combs controls his own finances. Everyone gets paid for their work once it's completed and confirmed, after routine review."
Even Combs' family members have to deal with Tri Star to get access to his cash. The mogul's family allegedly doesn't get unlimited access to the money. His family reportedly works within a set budget. If they exceed their allotted amount, each family member has to submit an invoice to receive funds from Combs' fortune. Sources with knowledge allege Tri Star doesn't always approve the invoices.
As of this report, no one from Combs' family has confirmed the allegations. Combs has been serving his 50-month sentence at the New Jersey prison since October. Since then, the embattled artist had visits from some of his family members, including his son Justin.
