The suspect arrested in connection with an incident at the Cincinnati home of Vice President JD Vance early Monday (January 5) morning has been identified.

William DeFoor, 26, was charged with one count each of obstructing official business, criminal damaging or endangering, criminal trespass and vandalism in relation to the incident, according to court records obtained by FOX 19. U.S. Secret Service reported a person "running eastbound" at 12:15 a.m. local time, a dispatcher confirmed.

DeFoor was observed by a U.S. Secret Service agent walking onto Vance's property and “damaging four of the victim’s residential windows and the victim’s vehicle" just before being detained by agents, an arrest report obtained by FOX 19 states. The suspect reportedly responded "I don't know" when officers advised him of his rights.

“The U.S. Secret Service is coordinating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office as charging decisions are reviewed,” a statement from Secret Service obtained by FOX 19 reads.

Vance, 41, was reported to have spent the past week in Cincinnati, but returned to Washington, D.C., Sunday (January 4) afternoon, according to WLWT-TV. Guglielmi confirmed that potential charges against the suspect were being reviewed by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio.

Vance reportedly purchased the home for $1.4 million in 2018. Last March, the vice president confronted pro-Ukraine protesters outside the home during an alleged incident while walking with his then-3-year-old daughter.

"Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of 'Slava Ukraini' protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared," Vance wrote on his X account at the time. "I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone. (Nearly all of them agreed.) It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you’re chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest, you’re a s**t person."
