Snoop Dogg will make history as the first-ever honorary coach of Team USA ahead of the 2026 Winter Games in Italy.

On Thursday, December 11, the veteran rapper and longtime sports fan announced his new role on LinkedIn along with his updated headshot. Snoop has joined the Team Behind the Team at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. As part of his duties, he will support Team USA on and off the field during the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

“Team USA athletes are the real stars—I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” Coach Snoop said.

“This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle," he added. "If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”

Snoop Dogg will also return as a correspondent for NBC Sports. The Death Row Records owner made plenty of headlines last year when he traveled to France to report on the Summer Games. During his time in Paris, Snoop carried the Olympic torch and served as the MC of the inaugural breakdancing portion of the games.

To close out the summer games, Snoop and his longtime friend Dr. Dre hit the stage in Los Angeles to perform their hits after their hometown was selected as the host of the 2028 Summer Olympics.

Before he heads to Italy, Snoop is already diving right into his role as honorary coach. He plans to assist the team by raising funds with his exclusive Coach Snoop x Team USA collaboration with Fanatics, which drops this month. A portion of the proceeds will go toward Team USA. The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics are scheduled for February 6-22, 2026.
