DJ Khaled and the We The Best Foundation continue to master the art of catering to the stars and assisting the community, thanks to their successful golf tournament.
The Grammy Award-winning artist and his non-profit hosted the 3rd annual We The Best x Jordan Brand Golf Classic on Thursday, December 4. A slew of celebrities flocked to the Miami Beach Golf Club to compete in Khaled's all-star golf tournament. Shortly after he arrived, the Miami-based artist opened the event by presenting two massive checks to two organizations with deep ties to the community, Fore Life, Inc., and the Circle of Brotherhood.
"Miami is my home," Khaled told the crowd. "305 is the city I rep worldwide everywhere I go. This is my home and this is the city I love so shout to everybody from Miami and shout to everybody who flew in that can support the We The Best Foundation. This is all for charity. This is all for a great cause. We need to uplift our communities. Give back to the kids."
$30,000 went to Fore Life, Inc., which is a nonprofit that uses the game of golf to teach leadership, discipline, and life skills to vulnerable youth. Fore Life hosted a youth golf clinic onsite at the Classic, offering hands-on instruction and mentorship for local kids. The organization Fore Life also hosted a youth golf clinic during the tournament, which gave local kids a chance to receive thorough golf instruction and mentorship. The Circle of Brotherhood, which is a local organization dedicated to community service, economic development, conflict resolution, and mentorship for young men, received $20,000 from the foundation.
The tournament featured 187 golfers, which is the most players they've ever had. Among the teams of talented golfers were Angie Martinez, Ja Rule, Jeezy, Tyrese Gibson, Fabolous, and more. In videos he posted to social media, you can see Khaled on the green teeing off with championship golfer Bryson DeChambeau, and traveling around the golf course with the massive crowd. He played each hole and visited activations by The Licking, Trill Burgers, and Raising Cane's. He even filmed an episode of Fat Joe and Jadakiss' podcast Joe & Jada next to the Jordan Brand activation.
Khaled ended the tournament by announcing the winners at a jam-packed closing party. The top teams and individual players were rewarded with huge silver trophies as DJ Chase B provided the vibes under the massive, air-conditioned tent.
Before the golf classic, DJ Khaled and his guests celebrated his 50th birthday during the welcome reception and auction at Casadonna in Downtown Miami. Following the lavish dinner, Khaled hosted an auction and partied with dozens of special guests, including Vybz Kartel, J Balvin, Offset, Quavo, Omarion, Rich The Kid, Conway The Machine, and more.
