De La Soul remains one of the most humble acts in Hip-hop, but even they had their own issues with the late Tupac Shakur.

During a recent interview with Ambrosia For Heads, Posdnuos and DJ Maseo explained how a simple misunderstanding led to their feud with 2Pac. Pos said the beef began shortly after they dropped their "Ego Trippin'" music video in 1993. 'Pac thought that the trio was trying to make fun of his visuals for "I Get Around."

“2Pac we had an issue with because when we did the ‘Ego Trippin’’ video, he unfortunately thought we were mimicking and trying to make fun of the ‘I Get Around’ video,” Pos recalled.

“He was very disappointed," he added. "He reached out to his manager and the people at Tommy Boy at the time and was like, ‘Yo, man, I love those dudes. I didn’t know they had an issue.’”

After they heard how upset 'Pac was, the group tried to work things out with him. Pos said he tried to call the West Coast MC to resolve their issues, but they kept missing one another. De La Soul eventually released their critically acclaimed album Stakes Is High, which called out trends in gangsta rap and mainstream hip-hop at the time. 'Pac thought it was another dig at him and decided to respond on “Against All Odds” from The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory and the unreleased song "Watch Ya Mouth."

"Look at De La Soul tryna player-hate on my s**t, n***a, eat a fat d**k!” 2Pac rapped on “Against All Odds."

De La Soul and 2Pac never escalated their beef further. They also never got to address their issues before the Death Row Records signee passed away in 1996. Watch the entire interview below.
