The Miami Dolphins have reportedly traded edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe on Monday (November 3).
"Dolphins are trading EDGE Jaelan Phillips to Eagles for a 2026 3rd round pick, per source. Miami/Philly have been working on this deal for days, and Vic Fangio reunites with Phillips - extremely talented pass rusher," Wolfe wrote on his X account.
Wolfe had previously reported that the Eagles were a contender to land Phillips, 26, amid speculation that he would be traded and cited defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's prior tenure with the Dolphins.
"Multiple teams have reached out and have significant interest in trading for Dolphins pass rushers Jaelan Phillips & Bradley Chubb, per sources. Miami had been hesitant. But with trade deadline Tuesday, Dolphins may now be willing to make a move," Wolfe wrote on his X account. "Philadelphia Eagles would like to trade for Dolphins EDGE Jaelan Phillips at right price, per sources. I’m told Vic Fangio thinks highly of Phillips from their year together in Miami (2023). He would help fill Eagles need for another pass rusher."
Phillips, a former first-round pick in 2021, has recorded 25 tackles, three sacks and three tackles for loss in nine games during the 2025 season. The Dolphins and general manager Chris Grier parted ways on Friday (October 31), hours after the team dropped to 2-7 in a blowout Thursday Night Football home loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The Eagles are currently first in the NFC East Division standings with a 6-2 record, coming off back-to-back wins prior to their bye week.
