Boyfriend Who Killed Pregnant Teen For Abortion Refusal Faces Death Penalty

A Florida man convicted of murdering his pregnant teenage girlfriend after she refused to get an abortion is now facing the death penalty, the Sanford Police Department confirmed in a news release shared last week.

Donovan Faison, 23, was convicted in the November 2022 death of Kaylin Fiengo, who was fatally shot in her car beside an ultrasound image. Fiengo reportedly sent Faison two positive pregnancy texts, to which he responded, "Abortion!!!"

Faison reportedly "erupted" and felt "angry and pressured" as he was living with another woman who suspected he'd been cheating on her at the time of the incident, the department confirmed in the news release.

“On my brothers [sic] grave, I’m gonna crop her out,” he texted a friend.

Faison reportedly lured Fiengo to meet him at Coastline Park in Sanford shortly after their text exchange. The victim, who told a friend she was going to meet Faison at the location, was found dead in the driver's seat with her vehicle running.

A bullet casing and an ultrasound image were found near Fiengo's body, according to police.

“This was an execution-style killing,” said prosecutor Stewart Stone, telling jurors they “should consider the cold, calculated, premeditated nature of this killing” before ultimately voting 11-1 to recommend the death penalty, according to KALB.

A judge will ultimately determine Faison's fate on December 5.
