The Los Angeles Dodgers enter the 2025 World Series as overwhelming favorites, according to several major sportsbooks.

The Dodgers opened as -1.5 (-155) favorites to repeat as World Series champions while the Toronto Blue Jays, who clinched a World Series berth with a 4-3 win against the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series Monday (October 20) night, are listed at +1.5 (-105) odds, according to ESPN Bet. Los Angeles is also listed at -220 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook; -215 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook; and -210 favorite on BetMGM.

The Dodgers would become the first team since the New York Yankees in 1999 and 2000 to win as wire-to-wire favorites for the second consecutive season, according to SportsOddsHistory.com, as well as the first team to win consecutive World Series titles since the 2000 Yankees. Los Angeles finished the 2025 regular season with a 93-69 record, with Shohei Ohtani favored to win the National League MVP award for the second consecutive year, which would be his fourth, having previously won the American League MVP in 2021 and 2023 during his tenure with the Los Angeles Angels.

The Dodgers have only lost once in the postseason, an 8-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 the National League Divisional Series, having swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series last week. The Blue Jays will make their first World Series appearance since 1993, having finished the regular season with an-American League best 94-68 record.
