Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans suffered a broken clavicle during his team's 24-9 loss to the Detroit Lions Monday (October 20) night, head coach Todd Bowles told reporters during his postgame press conference.

"He'll be out mostly toward the end of the year," Bowles said of Evans' potential timeline for a return. "We'll see what happens."

Evans also sustained a concussion before being carted off the field and into the locker room during the second quarter of his team's Monday Night Football loss. The veteran wide receiver was tackled by Lions cornerback Rock Ya-Sin on a deep pass from quarterback Baker Mayfield and hit his head on the turf, staying down for several seconds after the play.

The injury will likely end Evans' active receiving yards streak, having recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards during each of his first 11 seasons, which is tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice's record set between 1986 and 1996 and would've broken the record if he did so again in 2025. Evans had already been sidelined since Week 3 due to a hamstring injury and recorded 14 receptions for 140 yards and one touchdown in four total appearances in 2025.

"Mike Evans has 14 catches for 140 yards and one TD in four games this season. With tonight's injury, his incredible streak of 11 consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons is effectively over. But the door is open to return for the postseason push," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero wrote on his X account.
