Dame Dash is suing Cam'ron for $300 million over comments the sports broadcaster allegedly made about Dash and his family, plus other offenses.
On Friday, September 19, Dash posted a legal demand letter that was sent to Cam, born Cameron Giles. In it, Dash notified Cam he's suing him for loss of business opportunities, reputational harm, and emotional distress over recent disparaging comments and shady business moves the rapper-turned-sports broadcaster allegedly made. He included his wife, Raquel Horn, and his family office, The Dash Group, as plaintiffs who have also suffered from reputational harm, emotional distress, business disparagement, and financial interference.
"I never hustled with @mr_camron he’s a civilian, but he’s f**king with my family office and he’s now made my wife & 2 of my sons uncomfortable," Dash wrote on Instagram. "I would never do anything violent. And I dont want anyone that loves me to do anything violent so this is the only way I can handle this."
Dash accused Cam'ron of defaming him in a series of social posts in the days after the former Roc-a-Fella Record executive appeared on The Breakfast Club. Cam called Dash "a flagrant liar" after Dash claimed to be the new chairman of REVOLT TV. The host of It Is What It Is also claimed that he tried to help Dash out by offering his timeslots on REVOLT in exchange for executive producer credits. Cam said Dash did him a similar favor when he dropped Cam's albums via Roc-a-Fella at the beginning of his solo career.
"Now, matter of fact, f**k that. I'm the Godfather. He can't executive produce my shows," Cam said during his show this week. "How you the godfather of anything? Your word don't count no more. You don't got teeth. You have dentures. Your word don't mean nothing. You fell off the Mount Rushmore Harlem a long time ago, but we'll address it all tomorrow and Friday. But don't say I ain't trying to help out."
In his letter, Dash also accused Cam of cutting him out of ownership when he pursued a partnership with Larry Smith for their "Pink Mink" cannabis strain. Dash claimed he was the one who introduced Cam to Smith and accused the rapper of conducting business without him. In addition, Dash also accused Cam of excluding him from ownership and profits for his Dip Set Clothing Company after he funded the production of samples, promotion and content for the brand. In response, Cam said he plans to countersue.
"Shut up.. nah n***a I just started lolol," Cam wrote in Dash's comment section. "Foh wit ya ChatGPT lawsuit. lol when I counter sue, u’ll really never get out the hole u already in lil n***a. Let’s play baby."
