Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack's left elbow injury isn't season-ending and he's "expected to be back in a few weeks," a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo on Wednesday (September 17).

"#Chargers legend Khalil Mack, who left Monday’s win over the #Raiders with a dislocated elbow, is expected to be back in a few weeks, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Not season-ending. Good news for LAC, as Mack has looked like his usual productive self for this stellar defense," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "The #Chargers have plenty of depth and talent on the edge, including Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree. But look for young edge players like Caleb Murphy and Kyle Kennard, who led the SEC in sacks at South Carolina, to come to the forefront."

Mack, 34, was seen holding his left hand while jogging off the field and bending over in agony on the sideline before heading to the locker room during the Chargers' Monday Night Football win against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2. The nine-time Pro Bowler returned to the sideline with his elbow in medical wrapping and in a sling during the second quarter.

Mack finished Monday's (September 15) game with one sack and one tackle in the first quarter. The 34-year-old signed a one-year, $18 million deal with the Chargers in March, having previously contemplated retirement after the conclusion of the 2024 season.
