The streets have been saying JAY-Z is working on new music. Now, another artist has claimed that the veteran MC is planning to shake up the industry with his upcoming project.

On Wednesday, September 3, Billboard Unfiltered debuted its first-ever live episode featuring Cash Cobain and Zeddy Will. During their discussion about the King and Queen of New York, Cash threw JAY-Z's name in the running for the coveted title and even claimed that Hov will defend his crown with new music in the near future.

“I heard JAY-Z about to drop some shit that’s gonna shake the world," Cash said.

"That’s what I heard," he added. "That’s gonna shake the world.”

Although he's in album mode, Cash didn't go as far as saying that Hov would hop on a Slizzy beat. However, he hopes to hear Beyoncé on one of his beats one day. The New York native isn't the only artist who has heard about Hov's musical comeback. Last month, Memphis Bleek alluded to a new project his longtime friend is working on. During his recent appearance on Drink Champs, Bleek said he ran into Hov at Beyoncé's final stop of her "Cowboy Carter Tour" in Las Vegas and told him he's down to work together for the Roc Nation founder's next LP.

"I said, ‘Listen, I know you working. Save me a verse," Bleek said. "He’s like, ‘Alright, I got you.’ So if it happens, it happens.”

As of this report, JAY-Z himself has not confirmed any plans to release new music this year. He hasn't dropped an album since his 2017 LP, 4:44. However, he's slowly been working his way back into the spotlight with guest spots on hits like DJ Khaled's "God Did" and appearances on soundtracks for films like The Book of Clarence.
