Former President Joe Biden was photographed smiling with his family at a pre-birthday dinner for his granddaughter, Finnegan, after previously being spotted with a massive head gash during Labor Day weekend in Delaware.

Biden's daughter, Ashley, shared a photo on her Instagram Story of the family sitting at an eight-person table ahead of her niece's 25th birthday next week.

“Happy Birthday Dinner for our girl. Finnegan James Biden!” Ashley wrote along with the photo of her family, which showed her wearing a Philadelphia Eagles shirt under a blazer, adding "Go Birds!" with an Eagle emoji, as the dinner coincided with the team's NFL Kickoff Game against the Dallas Cowboys Thursday (September 4) night.

The former president had a red wound across the front of his head while greeting people as he left a church in Rehoboth Beach.

A representative for Biden confirmed that the former president recently underwent Mohs surgery, which is a procedure to remove skin cancer cells, in a statement to the New York Post on Thursday, though it's unclear exactly when the surgery took place. Biden was seen with a bandage when he attended the funeral of former Delaware Gov. and Rep. Mike Castle last month.

The former president also had cancerous skin lesion removed form his chest in February 2023, which was diagnosed as basal cell carcinoma. Biden was also diagnosed with an "aggressive" form of prostate cancer in May, which has since been reported to have spread to his bones and he's still undergoing treatment.
