Raekwon and Mobb Deep's Havoc are joining forces for a rare tour that will celebrate the legacy of their respective classic albums.
On Tuesday, August 12, both veteran rappers announced the dates for their joint "30th Anniversary Tour" presented by Loud Live and Live Nation. The tour will honor the 30th anniversary of Rae's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... and Mobb Deep's The Infamous. The tour begins in Portland, Oregon, on November 13 and will continue to other major cities in states like California, Colorado, Texas, Illinois and more. Rae and Havoc will close out the tour in Miami Beach on December 15.
“Me and Havoc from Mobb will be pure hip-hop at its finest," Raekwon said in a statement. "This is gonna take rap shows to the next level—guaranteed!”
“The fans can expect nothing less than pure, raw, unfiltered energy on stage," Havoc said. "I’m excited to celebrate these two legendary albums—the world doesn’t exist to me without that purple tape in it. This will be a tour the fans will never forget.”
In addition to their timeless hits, the Wu-Tang Clan rapper and the other half of Mobb Deep might also perform new music. Raekwon dropped his eighth solo album, The Emperor's New Clothes, last month. The album comes with 17 songs, including new collaborations with Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Conway The Machine, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Nas, and more.
Meanwhile, Havoc may perform new music from himself and his late friend Prodigy. Last year, the seasoned rapper and producer gave iHeartRadio an update on Mobb Deep's upcoming album. Fast-forward to April, Mass Appeal announced Mobb Deep's ninth studio album will drop as part of its Legend Has It series. The album will be executive-produced by Havoc and The Alchemist. Al recently confirmed that they recently completed the album, but did not reveal the release date. Will we have a new Mobb Deep album by the time Havoc hits the stage? Only time will tell.
