Drake caught fans off guard when he debuted his new single and previewed more music ahead of his anticipated album.
The Boy launched a livestream on YouTube Friday night, July 5, called "ICEMAN Episode 1," seemingly named after his upcoming solo album. During the stream, Drake appears to work inside a warehouse where he measures a massive block of ice before hitting up the employee lounge. While taking a break, a TV in the room plays some throwback footage from his early days before he premieres the music video for his new single "What Did I Miss?"
On the song, Drake vents about the aftermath of his feud with Kendrick Lamar and other rappers by chastising those who turned their backs on him. He also appears to call out his former friend LeBron James once again when he raps, "I saw bro went to Pop Out with them, but been dick riding gang since 'Headlines.'"
"Last time I looked to my right, you n***as was standing beside me/How can some people I love hang around p*ssies who try me?" Drake spits in the chorus.
The music video begins with Drizzy rapping the chorus in the backyard of a mansion with an array of automatic rifles lined up perfectly by the pool. He continues to rap the lyrics of his new song while he's in the walk-in freezer at the warehouse.
"What did I miss?/When I was looking at y'all and cooking with y'all," He raps. "And giving out verses and bookings to y'all?/Making sure wires were hit, man, what did I miss?"
After the song ends, Drake hops in a white truck with "Iceman" written on it and drives around the streets of Toronto. Moments later, he turns on the radio and previews another new song, "Super Max Deals." He blares the song through the speakers while driving and acknowledging the crowd of fans who notice him driving down their street. At one point, a heckler screamed at him and called a "b***h." Drizzy heard the fan and confronted him during his drive.
