Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and former journalist Lauren Sánchez made their first public appearance as husband and wife at Harry's Bar in Venice, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Page Six on Saturday (June 28).

The couple was seen walking through nearby Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal while waving to guests eating on the terrace of the iconic restaurant.

"Harry’s doesn’t have a water taxi drop-off, so they had to be dropped off at the hotel across the street and make their way through,” the source said.

Harry's was reportedly shut down for Bezos and Sánchez, who reportedly had lunch with singer Usher and designer Tommy Hilfiger, but was crowded again by 9:00 p.m. Owner Arrigo Cipriani had previously defended Bezos as "a private individual who has come here to get married" while discussing his Italian wedding with the local newspaper Corriere della Sera.

“I can’t see any problem with that. Venice is Venice and this event won’t change anything,” he said in response to criticism.

Bezos, 61, and Sánchez, 55, were wed at San Giorgio Maggore Friday (June 27) night during a ceremony that include Matteo Boccelli, the son of Andrea Bocelli, and pop star Ellie Goulding performing as guests. Other guests included Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Barry Diller, Jerry Seinfeld and Huma Abedin.
