Chris Brown has officially denied that he chucked a bottle of liquor at a music producer during a brawl inside a London nightclub two years ago.
The "Holy Blindfold" singer attended a hearing at the Southwark Crown Court in the U.K. on Friday morning, June 20, where he pleaded not guilty to the sole charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. Brown's alleged accomplice, Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded not guilty to the same charge. Chris Brown wore a blue, three-piece suit and a black tie to court. He walked by a crowd of photographers and fans without saying a word. However, he showed some love to some fans on his way out.
Brown was hit with the charge after he was arrested for allegedly using a bottle of Tequila to assault producer Abraham Diaw inside London's Tape nightclub in February 2023. At the time, Diaw claimed Brown hit him in the head several times with a bottle of tequila. After his knees buckled, Diaw alleged Brown punched and kicked him while he was on the ground. He sought medical treatment at a hospital after the unprovoked attack and claimed he needed crutches to walk while he recovered. Diaw also filed a lawsuit against Brown for $16 million following the incident.
Brown spent a weekend in jail after he was arrested last month. He was initially denied bail, but a judge allowed him to walk free after setting a $6.7 million bail. Brown was required to pay $5.3 million upon his release and was ordered to pay the rest within seven days.
Brown was arrested a couple of weeks before his "Breezy Bowl XX World Tour" began in Amsterdam. He's been in the U.K. all this week performing at shows in Manchester and Cardiff. He's set to hit the stage in London this weekend.
