Joey Bada$$ fires back at Ray Vaughn after the Los Angeles rapper dropped a diss track in response to his recent freestyle.
The New York native surprised fans with his reply to Vaughn on Thursday, May 15, called "The Finals." Joey ripped into the TDE signee over a vicious beat produced by Fierce, Boi-1da, Coleman and DRTWRK.
"Caught a couple strays, now it's time I put 'em on a collar," Joey spits. "I let 'em rot while I charge 'em for top dollar/You're the next nigga gettin' dropped off thе Top roster/And I'ma be the Rеason."
"Signed for five years, had your biggest moment from me/Can't nobody name a single song you ever released," he continues. "Even 'Crashout' wasn't your original beat/Everytime Joey dropped, you see, he eats/I did more for you than the whole of TDE/It's too bad, n***a, you should have been signed to me/Somebody tell Top we 'bout to start TD East."
Joey also took another opportunity to issue a challenge to Kendrick Lamar. "I salute you Kenny but I know you well aware," he raps. "You lookin' for some competition? Then just know that I'll be right here."
Joey Bada$$'s diss track comes less than 24 hours after Ray Vaughn fired at him on his song "Hoe Era." The 29-year-old artist shared the track hours after the face of Pro Era revisited his beef with West Coast artists on his "Red Bull Spiral Freestyle" with Ab-Soul and Big Sean. It's the third diss track Vaughn aimed at Joey since their beef began earlier this year following the New York native's controversial single "The Ruler's Back."
