Drake Trolls Rihanna Over New Music Amid Quarantine

Rihanna and Drake are seemingly back on friendly terms after a period of true social distancing.

Despite telling Vogue in 2018 that the two weren’t on speaking terms, the chart-toppers were spotted interacting on DJ Spade's recent Instagram Live session on Tuesday (March 24). Throughout the stream, Drizzy was seen making some friendly mentions of the pop star, but his most telling line arrived when he told her to release new music. "Rihanna drop R12 right now," he wrote, referencing her long-awaited ninth studio album, which has been dubbed R9.

In late 2019, Drake spoke about his relationship with Chris Brown and in the midst of his explanation, he admitted Rih was no longer part of either of their lives. "That person that was in the middle of us [Rihanna] is no longer a part of either of our lives currently and I have the most utmost love and respect for her," he confessed. "I think of her as family more than anything. I felt, I actually had kind of a moment of hesitation before because I didn't want her to ever feel disrespected by me linking up with him."

Earlier this month, Rih was seemingly still working on the LP as her best friend Melissa Forde shared a photo from the recording studio. Previously, the singer was confirmed to be in the lab working with Pharrell and his production duo The Neptunes.
