New Species Of Ancient Human Found In Philippines

A discovery in the Philippines adds a new branch to the human family tree. Researchers digging in a cave on the island of Luzon found the fossilized remains of an ancient human species previously unknown to science. Experts say the small-bodied hominin named Homo luzonensis lived at least 50,000 years ago. The small size of the adult teeth and other bones suggests they stood less than three-feet tall. The landmark discovery was reported in the scientific journal Nature.
