Rap Rising: Coi Leray Kicks Her Ex To The Curb In Defiant New Song

Coi Leray is getting rid of dead weight with no remorse on her brand song.

On Friday, April 26, the Grammy-nominated artist delivered her second solo single of the year "Can't Come Back," and it tops iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist. On the song produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, Coi tosses out her ex-boyfriend and vents about how the love she had for him has rotted over time.

"That's why I had to kick him to the curb," Leray raps at the beginning of her verse. "The love has turned to hate, it's getting worse/It's alright 'cause you live and then you learn."

"Can't Come Back" was one of two unreleased songs Coi Leray debuted at her Coachella performances. The song was inspired by Janet Jackson's "The Pleasure Principle" and is set to appear on her upcoming EP. Coi isn't the only female kicking around tough bars this week. Atlanta's own Anycia also comes through with plenty of hard-hitting lyrics on her debut album Princess Pop That. The rising rapper told iHeartRadio about the making of her new project from the roots of its title to working with Latto on the album's lead single "Back Outside." She also reveals how she gained co-signs from Kevin Durant, J. Cole and Waka Flocka Flame.

The Rap Rising playlist is full of new music from YG, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Gucci Mane, Nardo Wick, Normani and more. Press play above to hear the playlist and scroll below for more fresh rap hits.
