Trek Life didn’t have to do much for “Rap Time” to take shape. “I felt Duke Westlake produced such a dope track that it didn’t need to be sold to the listener,” the rapper says. “All we had to do was kick verses and let the chips fall where they may.” In this track from his new album Hometown Foreigner, Trek teams up with Hawdwerk and Bishop Lamont, where they spit furious rhymes about wack rappers atop stuttering drums for a noticeably nostalgic feel. “[My album] is filled with so much content and subject matter, that I wanted to use this beat as sort of a break from all that for the hardcore hip-hop fans.”

In his conversation with Big Boy, he talks about what inspired him to create his Untouchable Empire, Maybach Music Group — and even speaks on being in-studio with Jay-Z and Dr. Dre for his much anticipated song, 3 Kings.
